Nullification in Sixty

In halachah we find the concept of “nullification in sixty”, the quantitative ratio of disappearance or nullification of one substance in another. This is hinted in the very Hebrew word for “nothing”, א'ן. from one to sixty .

This ratio appears often in relation to wordly as well as to spiritual phenomena : sleep is one sixtieth of death, dream is one sixtieth of prophecy, fire is one sixtieth of hell, honey is one sixtieth of manna, Shabbat is one sixtieth of the World to Come.
